We’re two friends who realised that helping people meant more to us than chasing a traditional career. It might sound a little cliché, but it’s the truth.
Between us, we’ve had our fair share of struggles with mental and physical health. And through it all, we've found that it's the little things like comfort, warmth, and a good night’s sleep that can make the biggest difference.
That’s why we started this. We wanted to create something simple, supportive and genuinely helpful for people who need relief. We know that weighted blankets won’t fix everything, and we’re not here to pretend that they will. But they can help. They can calm a busy mind, ease anxious thoughts, and offer comfort when it’s most needed.

Our blankets are made with care from 100% hypoallergenic organic cotton. They’re filled with tiny glass beads, quilted into evenly weighted pockets. We keep things simple with a few calming colours and a whole lot of heart.

Why weighted blankets?
When we first stumbled across weighted blankets, we kind of lost our minds in the best way possible. The science was fascinating, the feeling was amazing, and the idea of deep touch pressure therapy just made sense.
We’ve all felt how a good hug makes everything instantly better, but we needed to know why. That curiosity led us down the most wonderful rabbit hole.
If you're curious, it started with Temple Grandin. On a farm visit she noticed that cattle were surprisingly calm in a squeeze chute. Instead of thinking, “Huh, weird,” she thought, “Wait… I actually find firm pressure calming too". That curiosity led her to build what became the very first “hug machine”.
The results were incredible: that gentle, steady pressure helped release oxytocin. Later studies found it also supports serotonin and melatonin. Weighted blankets were designed with the same principle in mind.
And to us, that simple idea felt like the most wholesome, powerful, yet underrated way to help people feel better, naturally. The rest was history.

Why should I choose Karmara?
A lot of weighted blankets in the UK are mass-produced which often means heavier fabrics, limited choice, and weight that can feel bulky. We wanted to do things differently.
Karmara blankets are handmade in Europe using breathable organic cotton and premium micro-glass beads. The beads are sewn into small quilted pockets, so the weight stays evenly spread and moves with you, instead of sliding around or bunching up during the night.
We’re really focused on how the blanket feels once you’re actually using it. It should be quiet, balanced, and comfortable all night without making you too warm.
A weighted blanket lives in your home, not in a clinic, so we offer a wide range of colour options to fit your space. And since all of our covers are replaceable, you can change the colour whenever you like.
Put simply, comfort isn't something that can be rushed or done cheaply. We don't believe in shortcuts, we believe in better sleep.
